Despite just three weeks back at school, Term 3 has already been full of activity!
Week Without Walls signups have been completed, Year 11 students have begun their final IGCSE examinations and the 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was performed brilliantly to full houses over three nights. The rest of the term looks set to be just as busy, with Year 11 exams continuing, mock exams for Year 10, Creative Arts Week and Transition activities to name just a few events.
Planning for the introduction of our A Level programme is well underway. Schemes of work and resources are being produced to ensure a smooth start in August and the preparation for the transformation of our new campus at the North Plaza is well advanced.
With next year already on our minds, I want to share with you a key change for our timetable for the start of the 2017/18 school year. In order to ensure we are best meeting the needs of our students the decision has been made to move from our existing 7 Day timetable to one that is built over a 10 Day cycle. This change allows more flexibility in the planning of our school timetable. The need for this flexibility is brought about to ensure the best possible allocation of our staff and physical resources both for next year and beyond as we anticipate the ongoing growth of the roll in the Secondary School. It also allows us to be able to move staff and students between the Main and North campus without comprising the teaching and learning for any student. The number of periods in the day, timings of lessons and total subject time allocation will remain unchanged.
Should you have any concerns or would like to discuss this change further, please feel free to contact me: email@example.com
