What's Been Happening in Year 1
Year 1 have been very busy over the last couple of months preparing for our show ‘There’s a Sunflower in my Supper’.
We have tried very hard to remember our lines, the words from the songs and any actions that we have to do during the show. We have created lots of artwork based upon the show, including some ‘amooooosing’ cow paintings! We are all very excited to be able to perform our show to our friends at DBIS, our aunties and finally our families next week.
We have enjoyed learning about how to keep ourselves safe on the internet this week during Digital Citizenship Week. We talked about how to keep our information private and read a story called Chicken Clicking. We look forward to sharing our learning with our families and helping them to use the internet safely.
In our IPC lesson we have been looking at some famous structures from around the world and thinking about how we can recreate them in the classroom. We either built or drew our structures and then we evaluated them using the Seesaw app.
We have also found a bit of time to continue with our work on the Three Little Pigs. We have been story mapping and are now getting ready to start thinking about our new characters and setting. We had great fun acting out the story and sharing our drama with our class.
Maths has seen us completing some addition and subtraction word problems. We have had to find the important information in a problem and then work out what we should do, it’s been tricky but fun.
