Early Years Round Up
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Wow, what a fantastic year we have had in the Early Years!
Some of the highlights include; all classes experiencing Forest Schools, Reception children participating in Beach Schools, Internationalism Week and the EYFS Student Council creating an Early Years motto (We play, learn and grow together), themed Stay and Plays throughout the year, Nursery and Reception buddy time with Y3 and Y5 Primary buddies, the Reception Show, Early Years Physical Development Day, the Green Week walk to school and our Water Fun Day today.
The children have really blossomed this year under the careful support and direction of the very dedicated Early Years Team. I would just like to thank all of the Early Years Team who continually go ‘above and beyond’ for the children and families here. It is also pertinent to thank some of our leaving teachers and educational assistants for their hugely valuable contributions. Firstly Helen McLean, our Reception Year Group Leader, in leading the Forest School program and ensuring that every child has had an opportunity to take part in this exciting opportunity. In addition to this I want to thank Helen for her year group responsibilities and her teaching of Safari class. I also would like to thank Carol Morris for all her continued support and development of our physical development provision here at the Early Years and of course her teaching of Harbour class. Miss Rosie Pico for her commitment to the Early Years and in particular Garden class children. Also to recognise Mrs Sarah Sutherland for being a fantastic support in Seaside class. Thank you to Jackie Tse and Corona for developing the Mandarin provision. On behalf of all the staff at DBIS, we wish you the very best with your future adventures.
For our Reception children and families, it has been a privilege to teach your children and they are a credit to you. We wish you all the best with your graduation to Primary, although we will of course see most of you next year. For our Nursery children and families, enjoy your summer break and we look forward to more learning adventures in the new academic year.
Lastly I would just like to thank you for all your continued support over the year. As previously mentioned, our school derives much strength from the surrounding active community and establishing and maintaining supportive relationships is the key to the EYFS DBIS ethos.
On behalf of the Early Years Team here at DBIS, we wish you a wonderful summer with family and friends.
