Secondary - WWW Year 7 Camp
As you all know we took the majority of our Year 7 students for Week without Walls (WWW) to Treasure Island at Pui O Beach in South Lantau.
The week was extremely rewarding for all students involved, both in the way it brought the Year 7 community even closer together and also in the way it challenged many of our students to get out of their comfort zones.
As a year group we enjoyed an action packed 5 days which included coasteering, gorge walking, sea kayaking and hiking. These activities were complemented by a range of highly engaging and interactive community building and night time games related activities. In addition, the students participated in a series of ‘adventure based learning (ABL)’ activities to enrich and enhance their teamwork, leadership and problem solving skills.
We also spent four nights under canvas camping out at both Pui O and Nam Shan. Despite a difficult beginning due to the rain caused by the Typhoon Khanun the students exhibited excellent resilience and developing levels of independence in the way that they organised and looked after themselves during the camp.
In the next week or so we will be releasing all of the photographs taken during the camp. In addition, a number of the Year 7 students will be creating a short ‘Year 7 Camp Film’ which will highlight all of the amazing experiencess from the WWW Camp. This short film will be shared to parents in the very near future via the Parent Portal.
