What's Been Happening in Year 1

Primary Year 1

Another busy week in Year 1.

It was wonderful to see so many parents join us for the open morning. It was a great opportunity for the children to show off their work.  We hope you managed to see their Seesaw work where a lot of their learning is stored.  This week in Maths we have been revisiting and consolidating our understanding of place value. We have used our knowledge to start adding on and taking away.

In literacy we have been learning the actions to the Ugly Duckling story and have also put a lot of effort into our story boards.  These will help us when we write the story later.

We have also been getting into the festive spirit and been creating some Christmassy art work and decorations.

As the term comes to the end it is always a good time to stop and reflect and see how much the children have grown in their learning. Every child has been through their work with their teacher and has been set their next target to aim for.  It was fantastic to see so many parents at the parent teach meetings to discuss the first term reports and their child’s next step in their learning.  Thank you for all your support and help at home.
