What's Been Happening in Year 4
Year 4 were delighted to return to school after the Chinese New Year break and wasted no time in getting back into the swing of school life.
We enjoyed hearing about everyone’s holiday time and have learnt more about each other’s likes and dislikes through our Personal, Social and Health Education lessons.
A big focus has been our Young Entrepreneurs unit in Discovery, which has seen us conduct market research, plan and design our products and services and begin to create prototypes. We look forward to sharing our items – and more details of the process involved in creating these – at our Celebration of Learning ‘Trade Fair’ on Tuesday 27th March.
Our Literacy work has focussed on persuasive texts and adverts - influenced (no pun intended!) by our Discovery work and we have been exploring the best ways to encourage consumers to purchase our products and services.
The cross-curricular links continue into Maths, where we have been looking at statistics and finding out how to represent data in graphical form. We will use these skills to help us analyse our market research.
One hot topic of conversation in Year 4 currently is our imminent visit to Cheung Chau for Camp. The excited atmosphere in the classrooms is tangible and we can’t wait to get our old clothes on and join in with some fantastic, team-building activities!
