What's going on in Secondary Mandarin?

Term 3

Year 7

Students are doing countries, continents and languages, which they will be assessed by listening, speaking, reading and writing. In particular, they need to show their understanding of writing characters in a proper stroke order. 

Year 8 

Students are doing about colours and clothing items, using colour words to describe things such as food, transport and clothes. They will be asked to make suggestions that what to wear according to different weather conditions. They will also to evaluate about their school uniform and give out ideas. 

Year 9

Students are doing a revise on weather conditions at the beginning, then they will learn about summer and winter holidays. Also, students will study more about outdoor activities. They will need to write about one of their holidays, what they did, who they went with and etc. Lastly, they will learn about hobbies, sport activities and extra-curriculum activities. 

Year 10

Students are studying about daily school routine, school subjects and school facilities. They are asked to comment each subject and subject teachers in order to use new grammatical terms to express their opinions and ideads. When they finish all contents of Book 2, they will do some iGCSE past exam papers so as to familiar with the format of the papers.

Learning Tips:

1. Revise new learnt materials as always.

2. Practise to write Chinese characters day by day.

3. Come to class prepared with materials and positive attitude.
