Year 6 - Y6HD

Hannah Dray

Y6HD are as busy as ever and have settled back into school life quickly after both the Christmas and Chinese New Year Holidays.

We have started our new IPC topic 'Making the News' which began with the students creating their own TV News Show as part of the Entry Point. We are currently looking at past news stories and the history of communication and have researched news stories that have taken place on our birthdays.

Each student is continuing with their group novel and it's great to hear how enthusiastic the students are about the stories, many of which feature on the Battle of the Books list. We have also been reading poetry in class and the students will also be performing a poem of their choice to the rest of the class at a later date.

Up and coming events for Term 2 include a trip to the Hong Kong Library Festival to see Eion Colfer (details will follow soon!), Green Week and the Year 6 Speech Competition.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns or queries.

Kind regards,
Mrs Dray

What's going on in Year 6 - Y6HD?

Y6HD online: You will find lots of useful information including homework tasks, notices and useful weblinks on our online portal. This site will be updated on a daily basis and should be your starting point for accessing class information online. The web address is http://y6hdmrsdray.wikispaces.com

You will also find the Year6 IPC wiki useful for researching various topics throughout the year and the Maths wiki is well under way to help those students in my Maths group. Links to both these wikis can be found on the class wiki.
