A warm welcome to everyone in Y4KY. We have a busy and exciting curriculum ahead.
The sign up for extra curricular activities is on Monday 30th August after school when the children will meet the teachers who will be coaching them. Please try to take advantage of the range of activities offered. Remember that your child needs plenty of water during this hot period and that a school hat must be worn for outdoor play. Parent/ Teacher interviews are on 30th and 31st August. Please sign up for an interview time at the Y4KY classroom.

What's going on in Year 4 - Y4KY?
Welcome back everyone! I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday and that your children are ready for an exciting year ahead in Y4KY.
The children are are settling well and are getting to know their new classmates and forming friendships. They are becoming familiar with the timetable and the general class routine. We welcome Christopher and Sonya to Y4KY and are delighted to have Kathryn Shon rejoin the year group.
The class will shortly be receiving levelled home reading material and regular spelling lists. From Monday 30th August they will be in a maths set which we feel will best supports their needs.
We have started our new IPC topic 'Visual Representation' by going off timetable and having an 'Entry Point' fun day. The classes rotated through four activities which allowed them to appreciate the use of art, maps, signs and symbols in the world around us.
The Board Walk Cafe is proving to be a popular option and I have received positive feedback from the children who have used it. My class appear to enjoy the food choice as well as the cafe environment.
I look froward to meeting you all shortly when we have our initial Parent /Teacher Conferences on Monday 30th August and Tuesday 31st August. These meetings allow us to have a short informal 'get to know' session where we can gather further background information about your child.
Please note that our new starting time in the morning is 8.25am.
