End of May Update

Dear Parents

School Spirit and School Awards Ceremony:  As indicated, we will be holding our School Spirit and School Awards Ceremony at the same assembly this year – Friday 18 June.  All parents of students receiving an award will be invited to attend this special ceremony, and will be advised next week accordingly.  Please note that the Principal’s Awards for our two Year 6 students are presented separately at the Year 6 Graduation Ceremony to be held on the last day of this term, Friday 25 June.

SATs:  Our Year 6 students are currently sitting their SATs examinations – best wishes to all concerned!

Art Exhibition:  A reminder that our annual Art Exhibition will be held next week on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 June between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm on respective evenings in our Primary and Secondary School Globe Theatre.  You are all welcome to come and see the wonderful art works on the ‘Hong Kong’ theme presented by our students, from Kindergarten through to Year 8.  Please note that all art works will be sent home on Friday 4 June, with the excepetion of our amazing Kindergarten art works which are completed on a larger shared canvas.

Cricket Tournament:  Our Year 6 Cricket side took part in the ESF Kwik Cricket qualification competition on Wednesday 26 May at King George V School.  There were six teams and each team played each other once.  The boys battled very hard, winning two and narrowly losing one.  Due to the number of runs scored by the boys they have qualified for the shield competition to be held on Saturday 5 June.  Many thanks go to our boys for the hard work and effort put in on a very hot day as well as to Mr Hunt and Mr Rose for their coaching and supervisory prowess.  Good luck to the boys for the next stage.

Congratulations and Welcome!:  A very special congratulations to Jo and Phil Pache and a very special welcome to Scarlett’s little sister Amelie!  Jo and Amelie are both at home and doing extremely well.

Public Holiday:  A reminder that there will be a public holiday on Wednesday 16 June being Tuen Ng – (Dragon Boat) Festival.
