OUR UNIQUE DISCOVERY CURRICULUM IS A COMPREHENSIVE, CONCEPT DRIVEN, CREATIVE CURRICULUM FOR 3-11 YEAR OLDS, WITH A CLEAR PROCESS OF LEARNING THROUGH ENQUIRY WHICH IS DRIVEN BY KEY CONCEPTS AND UNDERSTANDING GOALS FOR EVERY SUBJECT, FOR INTERNATIONAL MINDEDNESS AND FOR PERSONAL LEARNING.
Our Discovery Curriculum identifies an ambitious body of knowledge and the skills which we believe are required to equip our students to operate in a sophisticated, global, technological world, and is taught through an enquiry based approach to support the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills in our learners. Our international setting and focus means that our students develop a global outlook and are tolerant and curious about those whose culture is different from their own.
Learning through the Discovery Units focuses on building an understanding of the concepts and mastery of learning skills and dispositions as well as acquiring essential subject specific knowledge in Science, History, Geography, Art, Design Technology, Learning Technologies and Internationalism. English and Maths skills transcend each unit and in turn, the units themselves will often provide a contextual learning experience for the development of skills in these curriculum areas.
