At DBIS Secondary, we are proud of the extensive musical opportunities available to our students.
All students have the opportunity to be involved a wide variety of musical groups including our school orchestra, rock bands and choirs. In addition, we have a very comprehensive peripatetic instrumental programme and a large number of our Secondary students learn an instrument.
Music is a compulsory subject studied in Key Stage three twice a week and focuses on performing and evaluating music, singing and composition, and the exploration as to how music is created.
Throughout the year, we offer our students a wide variety of opportunities to perform for our school community and showcase their hard work and musical talents, including the annual DBIS Food Fair and Carols on the Pitch, Arts Week, and regular Musical Soiree evenings. In addition, some of our students are given the opportunity to attend a FOBISIA Music Festival each year, giving them the chance not only to develop their musical knowledge and performance skills but to make friends with other young musicians from all over Asia.
