What's Been Happening in Year 4
The final two weeks of this half term have have had two main foci in Year 4: Wellbeing and Discovery.
A particular highlight of the last two weeks was the wellbeing work that Year 4 did with Mr Broderick last week. The key focus was on the character strengths that each student has (for example gratitude, social intelligence, forgiveness, teamwork etc.) as well as identifying the strengths of others. After half term we will continue to used this new shared language to describe the strengths of each other, giving each child positive feedback.
This week the learning in Year 4 has focused on comparing the skeletal, circulatory and digestive systems of animals to humans with the students creating their own projects to compare the two. There have been digestive demonstrations going on in class, discussions about diet and lots of creative model making!
After half term, we would like to offer the children the opportunity to explore their own interests in our Visual Representations unit. If you have an artistic skill or flair, and would like to share your style with the children, please let us know!
