What's Been Happening in Year 6

Primary Year 6

We are currently away having a wonderful time in Guilin, China.

We will tell you all more about it once we return. In the meantime, here is some information and photos about our well-being afternoon last week from Mr. Broderick..

Last week, Year 6 had the pleasure of working with myself the School Wellbeing Coach, Jason Broderick and Deputy Head, Mr Loran in an interactive and engaging wellbeing session based on Strength Spotting and Understanding Anxiety. Throughout the session students identified their
strengths and how these can be used to assist them to strengthen areas within their school life. As the camp was forthcoming, the session also
included elements of what anxiety may look like, sound like and feel like. These areas were then further discussed within classroom lessons as part of the continuation for camp preparation. This is the beginning of a series of deeper dive sessions planned for our Year 6 classes throughout the 2018/19 academic year where they will have the opportunity to explore social and emotional learning at DBIS.
