Year 7 News
It indeed has been a hectic half term for all Year 7 students.
Part of thriving at a school is the act of being able to juggle many commitments at once. We have witnessed students who have shown tremendous dedication towards their endeavours that go beyond their standard school commitments.
Subject workloads have steadily increased. Recently, all Year 7 students have had to produce thought provoking projects and presentations in Science, Mathematics, Humanities and English. Many students in the cohort are currently involved in sporting ECAs including Basketball, Athletics, Swimming, Boxing, Badminton, Rugby, Cross Country and Football. Under 13 FOBISIA training has just started up in preparation for the sports competition in March and there is also a FOBISIA gymnastics competition happening mid January that keen gymnasts are preparing for.
We were delighted to see so many Year 7 students involved with the choir and showing their respect for Remembrance Day. Our cast involved in the Secondary Production ‘Lord of the Flies’ are a week out from their big performances! Good luck to all involved. We would like to congratulate Oscar-Mattaeus Sullivan and Ella Rush who were selected to be the Year 7 Student Council representatives.
The Year 7 Parents evening is on the 5th of December and it would be great to see you all there. It is a great time to meet the teachers of your child but also to get an understanding of how your child is progressing in their subject area. You will be able to access the booking system via the Parents Portal on the weekend of the 23rd of November.
As always, the Year 7 team are happy to provide you answers or discuss in more detail any of the above information.
