What's Been Happening in Reception

Early Years Reception News

This week the celebrations continued in Reception, with Thanksgiving day.

In Harbour class, we had the lovely Mrs Hudson (Vera’s mummy) in to read a special Thanksgiving story and eat some delicious pumpkin pies.. yummy! We are thankful for your visit!

There has been some fantastic learning happening across the Reception classes, as the children have been taking more ownership of their learning in Community and Discovery Times. In each of the Reception classes we have been learning about different occupations and ways of life, leading to some amazing questions from the children, such as ‘’what do surgeons do?’’ and ‘’how do we make money?’’ The children have also been transforming the role play areas into hospitals and doctors surgery, resulting in some great imaginative play!

With Christmas drawing near, the children have also been practising their songs for the upcoming Christmas Carols. We look forward to seeing you all for the Christmas sing along on Thursday 13th December at 9am.
