What's Been Happening in Year 1
Year 1 have been busy this week preparing for the Year 1 show which will take place on Tuesday 11th December.
They have been rehearsing their lines, practicing speaking with expression and making sure they are nice and loud so everyone can hear. They have enjoyed singing all the songs from the show and it has made the classrooms feel very festive in the lead up to Christmas. Some students have also been involved in some Green Screen videos so have visited the STEAM room. They are very excited to showcase all their talents with you all next week!
To feel even more into the festive Year 1 took a trip to see a performance of Raymond Briggs Father Christmas at the HK Performing Arts Centre. The children thoroughly enjoyed the show and were very excited to see Father Christmas on his sleigh delivering gifts around the world. It was a beautifully produced show that gave the children lots of ideas and inspiration for their own show.
Y1 have also been enjoying some Christmas themed maths activities this week to practice their addition and subtraction. They have particularly enjoyed making baubles out of playdough and counting them on Christmas Trees!
