Learning Environment in Secondary
In addition to modern, well-resourced classrooms and laboratories, the Secondary School has excellent facilities to support students in their activities away from the classroom.
The Globe Theatre is often in use for a range of creative arts pursuits, whilst specialist music and technology suites offer students an impressive array of resources. A 25-metre swimming pool, as well as our own multi-purpose sports pitch, support our diverse sports programme.
Students are also able to make full use of our specialist Blackbox theatre facility, including its flexible staging, LED lighting and sound equipment.
Technology is an integral part of teaching and learning at DBIS. All students in Secondary bring their own laptops to school, and the school has two well-resourced computer and Design Technology suites with the latest teaching software and equipment such as robotics and 3D printers.
Also at the Main campus is the impressive library facility, which has an extensive collection of books and periodicals to support the demands of the Secondary School’s curriculum. Individual project rooms, group study pods and a Secondary study area provide flexible learning spaces for our Secondary students.
DBIS Sixth Form has its own separate campus with purpose-built facilities for our senior students, although Sixth Formers have some lessons at the Main campus in order to take advantage of the additional facilities there.
